Passion For Education

Disability Ministry has been a passion of mine since high school. I chose the field of education as an avenue to work with people who have special needs. God continually challenges, teaches and helps me grow through the lives of my friends with special needs. I have a passion to see these incredible people learn to love the Lord while learning Appropriate Independence™.

Learning Styles

I love to teach utilizing class discussion. I firmly believe that the best way to learn is to teach. With this in mind, I enjoy having the stronger students assist and teach their peers. I also find it beyond helpful to know the students' individual learning styles, get creative in the classroom and allow each student to learn in the best way for them. I believe that leadership should be set through example. Any situation can be turned into a leadership or teaching example.

Crazy Lobster!

Since I've been here, I have had the privilege to experience so many great things with these students. They're so funny! A few of my favorite student quotes are, "Didn't King Henry the Eighth invent divorce?" and "You're crazy, like a crazy lobster!" I love going on the retreats with the students which definitely are highlights for me as well!
